Camouflage Camouflaging Birth Marks, Scars and Tattoos. Many of us have to face the problem of trying to hide a skin problem, mark or tattoo not just when performing but in everyday life too. There are several products available to help with this, including most types of theatrical make-up ranges. However, I personally prefer to use the Dermablend range. Not only do you get great coverage; you also get a finish that is smudge and water resistant, and it will also last for about 12 hours. Unfortunately it seems that, for the moment at least, Dermablend have stopped making their test kits. This makes buying the right shade a bit more tricky. There is a colour chart at the their web site that may prove useful: http://www.dermablend.com/RightShadeForYou.aspx The instructions are easy to follow and you remove the camouflage with a special removing lotion. I use this product regularly on myself as I have permanent bruise-like marks on my feet, lower legs and upper arms as a result of a health problem. Dermablend can also be used to disguise very dark circles under the eyes and is an effective cover for even the most densely pigmented tattoo. It needs to be applied in layers to build up the cover, but even at close range it's hard to tell that you are wearing it. Photos to demonstrate this will be coming soon. |
