ASMED Autumn Dance Skills Day

What will the day cover?

In contrast to the summer skills day this event is more theory focused (although there will be some practical work too) and is designed to complement some of the work covered in the sessions from earlier in the year. It is not essential to have taken any of the previous sessions to take part and places are open to any dancer with 4/5 years experience who is looking to expand their background knowledge as a well as their practical dance skills.

Topics include:

Songs that every dancer should know
Singers & composers of the 'Golden Age' of Egyptian cinema
Putting together and implementing a Personal Development Plan
Recognising key dance styles
Critiquing Skills (your own dancing and/or students)
Putting on a small event
Make up and hair for performance - there is a small haflah at the same venue in the evening - please ask for details as ticket sales are limited.

We will also be holding auditions for the mentoring service and there will be an opportunity to meet and discuss how it all works with Afra and some of the current ASMED students.
