International teacher and performer Afra al Kahira has been an oriental dancer (aka belly dance) for more than 25 years and is one of the longest established teachers in the UK. She is recognised for her excellence in teaching and her exciting and often very different performance styles which range from traditional Egyptian right through to her cutting edge experimental work. Afra was the first dancer in the UK to perform Wings of Isis and is famous for her stunning double wing numbers.

As an organizer of workshops with the stars Afra hosts regular events through out the year with some of the world's top dancers. Past events include workshops/shows with Morocco of New York, Aida Nour, Medhat Fahmy, Dondi Dahlin, Yasmina of Cairo, Aziza of Montreal/Portland and most recently - Sadie of Denver, Michelle Joyce of San Francisco and Tarik Sultan in his UK debut in 2009.
