Sara Shrapnell regularly performs at parties and recitals, both as a soloist and a group dancer, and has some experience of performing internationally as a delegate at various festivals in the US. Having first discovered the joy of Middle Eastern Dance attending regular classes as a student of Tina Hobin and Afra al Kahira, she became interested in expanding her knowledge by taking workshops around the country with teachers from the UK, Egypt, America and Algeria.
She became a full time teacher at the end of 2001, teaching in Alton, Basingstoke, Tadley and Reading. Employed both as an educator and a fitness instructor, Sara holds a City & Guilds Certificate in Adult Education. She also holds an Al Kahira School of Middle Eastern Dance (ASMED) Teaching Diploma and is a former tutor for ASMED.
A founding member of the Kol Dance Company and Mersin, her dance style combines her early loves of Ballet and Disco with her enthusiasm for Middle Eastern Dance.
