Nothing moves or feels like silk! Once you have danced with a silk veil you will never want to dance with anything else!

Afra carries a range of hand-dyed silk skirts and veils for dancers. These veils are in beautiful clear tones in fabulous original designs by Akai Silks. Check back here regularly for what's currently in stock. Contact Afra if there's something special you'd like for a particular costume - there is a huge range of colours, patterns and clear solids to choose from.

All designed and created by the talented designer Je'Sennia. Many of the designs have unique colour combinations and all are hand-made by Je'Sennia herself. They are not just veils - they are works of art! Veils come in 3 styles: Standard Rectangle, Ex-Large Rectangle and Half Circle (true half circles). They have all been hemmed in silk. Half Circle veils are 3yrds long by 54" wide - they give a fabulous swirl of colour around you as you dance! Made in the highest quality 5mm China silk .Skirts are two panels and again are true circles. They come free-size with a drawstring tape in matching silk. The standard length is 33", but we do carry a few in 35". Made in the finest 10 mm China silk, and is not transparent or sheer. Skirts are slit to the waist so you may want to sew or pin up the slits up a little to show less leg.

Unless otherwise stated Afra only has one of a particular item in stock, but you can order additional items if required and there is a discount for block orders for a troupe or class. Please note: Please order well in advance of when you require a special item. Je'Sennia is a one-woman business and artist - her silk veils, skirts and clothing are extremely popular so she often as a backlog of orders to fulfil, but it is worth the wait!

This is our current stock but we have regular shipments so check frequently to see what's new. Please note that we do not always get the same items every time, however we can do special orders if there is something you'd like that has already been sold.
