Yasmina will back again this summer to provide her wonderfully informative and fun workshops! We have listened your feedback and this year we have moved the event to a new venue which we hope will prove easier to find and get to. Theale Green Community School is easy to find, being just a few minutes drive from Junction 12 of the M4 (Reading). It is also on the main public transport routes, with regular buses from Reading and a local train station approximately 15minutes walk from the school, making the event much more accessible.

Spend a day exploring the exciting, earthy sounds
of Egyptian Sha’abi!

Sha’abi is a fascinating Egyptian cultural phenomenon. The most famous current exponent is Hakim but there have been many great artists past and present. In these in-depth workshops, Yasmina will introduce you to the music and style and explain its background and history. In the second workshop Yasmina will develop the theme further by teaching a dynamic and fun Sha’abi choreography. Click here to view or download a flyer

IMPORTANT NOTICE

I am very sad to announce that the haflah has had to be cancelled due to lack of support. It was a decision that was made very reluctantly. The workshops will run as planned and anyone who has bought a ticket for the haflah will have their money returned shortly. If you need a refund for your ticket but haven't yet received it please email afra@afraalkahira.com

If you are disappointed because you had planned to go but had not yet purchased a ticket, then I am sad to say that probably contributed to my decision to cancel.

A plea from the heart of an event organizer - we spend a lot of time and effort to bring wonderful teachers like Yasmina to the UK to pass on their valuable knowledge and delight us with their dancing. But to do this we need your support, not just by buying tickets but by buying them early enough. To help ensure that we can continue to bring these stars to our shores please help us buy buying early!
